Description
A delicious and easy dish combining tender beef with a sweet and savory sauce, perfect for a quick dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound flank steak, sliced thinly
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced beef and cook until browned.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and simmer for about 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in chopped green onions and remove from heat.
- Serve over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds.
Notes
Slice the flank steak against the grain for tender pieces. If you like a bit more heat, increase the red pepper flakes. You can marinate the beef for a few hours in the sauce for added flavor. For a healthier option, replace rice with cauliflower rice and add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli while it simmers.
