Description

A classic dessert known for its rich and creamy texture atop a buttery graham cracker crust.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a medium bowl. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust.
  3. Beat the cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and mix well.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition to ensure everything is well combined.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
  7. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door slightly open for an hour.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let it set properly.
  9. Spread the sour cream on top before serving if desired for extra creaminess.

Ensure cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps. Avoid overbaking to prevent cracks on the surface.
