Description
A classic dessert known for its rich and creamy texture atop a buttery graham cracker crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a medium bowl. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust.
- Beat the cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and mix well.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition to ensure everything is well combined.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
- Bake for about 60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door slightly open for an hour.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let it set properly.
- Spread the sour cream on top before serving if desired for extra creaminess.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps. Avoid overbaking to prevent cracks on the surface.
