Description

A simple recipe for homemade cheddar bread that requires no kneading, perfect for cheese lovers.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 720-1080 minutes.
  5. Once the dough has risen, preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat.
  6. Carefully turn the dough out onto a floured surface, shape it into a ball, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  7. Once the Dutch oven is hot, carefully place the dough inside, cover it with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For a more intense cheddar flavor, choose sharp cheddar cheese. You can also add herbs or spices for extra flavor.
