- 4 Beer (lager or any preferred type)
- 4 Bratwurst sausages
- 2 Onions (sliced)
- 2 tablespoons Butter (or oil)
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Optional: mustard or bread for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sauté butter over medium heat and add the sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Arrange bratwurst side by side in a baking dish.
- Combine caramelized onions on top of the bratwurst.
- Pour beer over the sausages and onions, then season with salt and pepper.
- Bake covered with aluminum foil for 25-30 minutes.
- Finish by removing the foil and baking for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve with mustard or on buns, as desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. For a smokier flavor, consider using smoked bratwurst.
