Description

A classic peach cobbler that’s sweet, comforting, and perfect for any occasion. Enjoy it warm with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced peaches (Fresh, canned [drained], or frozen [thawed and drained])
  • 1/2 cup sugar (White or brown)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (Or all-purpose flour)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (Fresh)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (Optional)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (Optional)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar (White or brown)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp butter (Cold, cubed)
  • 1/3 cup milk (Or buttermilk)
  • 1 egg (Optional, for richer topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Toss the sliced peaches with sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla. Let the mixture sit for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet or baking dish in the oven while it preheats.
  4. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Add milk and egg (if using) until a dough forms.
  5. Pour the peaches (with juice) into the hot buttered skillet. Drop spoonfuls of the topping over the fruit.
  6. Bake for 35–45 minutes until the topping is golden and the peaches are bubbling.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for extra delight.

Notes

Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
