Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Yellow and black food coloring (optional)
- Chocolate chips (for the ‘pencil’ tip)
Instructions
- Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Whisk together the milk, egg, and vegetable oil in another bowl.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Add yellow food coloring to the batter for a ‘pencil’ look, if desired.
- Preheat a waffle maker and spray it with cooking spray.
- Pour the batter into the waffle maker and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Use chocolate chips to create the ‘pencil’ tip on one end of the waffles.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
