Description

Creative and fun Pencil Waffles that brighten up breakfast with their unique shape and delicious taste.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Yellow and black food coloring (optional)
  • Chocolate chips (for the ‘pencil’ tip)

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk together the milk, egg, and vegetable oil in another bowl.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Add yellow food coloring to the batter for a ‘pencil’ look, if desired.
  5. Preheat a waffle maker and spray it with cooking spray.
  6. Pour the batter into the waffle maker and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  7. Use chocolate chips to create the ‘pencil’ tip on one end of the waffles.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftover waffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
