Description

Fun and tasty breadsticks filled with pizza flavors, perfect for parties and dipping in marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup sliced pepperoni
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a large mixing bowl. Create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a floured surface.
  6. Roll it out into a rectangle, approximately 12×16 inches in size.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  8. Layer the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese, followed by Parmesan cheese and seasonings.
  9. Roll the dough tightly from one long edge into a log.
  10. Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  11. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  12. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven for crispiness.
