Description

A delightful mix of salty prosciutto, creamy brie, and sweet honey perfect for picnics or quick lunches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12-inch crusty baguette, freshly baked
  • 6 to 8 thin slices prosciutto (about 3 ounces)
  • 6 ounces brie cheese, sliced or torn
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey (preferably raw or wildflower)
  • 1 cup fresh arugula or baby spinach (optional)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil for toasting (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, a small pinch
  • Optional: thinly sliced green apples or pears for added sweetness

Instructions

  1. Slice the baguette lengthwise into two even halves. You can slice each half into sandwich portions if desired.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add butter or olive oil if using. Place the baguette halves cut-side down in the skillet and toast until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Slice or tear the brie into pieces about 1/4 inch thick. Optionally, warm the brie in the microwave for 15–20 seconds to soften.
  4. Layer the prosciutto slices evenly on the toasted baguette halves. Add the softened brie on top of the prosciutto. Drizzle honey over the brie and sprinkle with black pepper. Add arugula or spinach if using.
  5. Press the top half of the baguette over the fillings gently to keep everything in place.
  6. Wrap the sandwich in parchment or wax paper if taking it on a picnic, or slice into portions and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Experiment with different types of honey for unique flavors. You can also add roasted vegetables for extra crunch.
