Description

Festive and delicious macarons perfect for holiday celebrations, featuring a sweet and creamy filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (red, white, blue)
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 34 cups powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for filling)
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
  3. Whisk the egg whites in a separate bowl until frothy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and keep beating until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites gently.
  5. Divide the batter into three bowls and add food coloring to each: red, white, and blue.
  6. Pipe small rounds onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes until they form a skin.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes. Let them cool completely.
  9. Beat together the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth for the filling.
  10. Pipe the filling onto one macaron shell and top it with another. Enjoy!
