Description
Delicious seafood melts combining shrimp and crab in a cheesy biscuit treat, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 biscuits (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup shrimp (peeled, deveined, and chopped)
- 1 cup crab meat (fresh or imitation, drained well)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for sautéing)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (can substitute with Greek yogurt)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (can be reduced for a healthier option)
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice (to balance flavor)
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning for a spicier kick)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar or Gruyere) (for topping)
- 1/4 cup fresh chives or parsley (for garnish)
- Salt and black pepper (for seasoning to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the biscuit package, or 375°F if using homemade biscuits.
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped shrimp and crab meat to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through. Season with salt, black pepper, and Old Bay seasoning.
- In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and smoked paprika until smooth. Stir in the seafood mixture until it’s well combined.
- Cut the biscuits in half and place them on a baking sheet. Spoon the seafood mixture generously onto each biscuit half.
- Top each filled biscuit with shredded cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chives or parsley before serving.
Notes
For a quicker option, use pre-cooked shrimp. These melts can be paired with light salads or veggies for a balanced meal.
