Description

A flavorful dish featuring tender shrimp and juicy mussels in a rich, creamy garlic sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g shrimp (peeled and deveined; substitute with prawns if desired)
  • 500 g mussels (cleaned and debearded; discard any unopened)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced; fresh is recommended, can substitute with garlic powder)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (use half-and-half for a lighter option)
  • 1/2 cup white wine (can substitute with vegetable broth)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (or use olive oil as a healthier alternative)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped; can substitute with basil)
  • 1 lemon juiced and zested (can substitute with lime)
  • to taste salt (adjust according to preference)
  • to taste pepper (adjust according to preference)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter (or olive oil) in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for a few minutes to reduce slightly.
  4. Add the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  5. Add the shrimp and mussels to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the shrimp are pink and the mussels have opened.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice and zest, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Finish by adding the chopped parsley and give it a gentle stir.

Notes

Serve hot over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
