Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter (active)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sourdough starter, water, sugar, salt, and olive oil in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 4-6 hours).
  4. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  5. Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover and let it rise again until doubled (about 1-2 hours).
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Allow to cool before slicing.

For best results, ensure your sourdough starter is active and bubbly. Store in a breadbox or airtight container.
