- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 package pastry shells (or dough)
- Oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a bit of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with taco seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, then mix in salsa and remove from heat.
- Preheat the oven or oil for frying.
- Roll out the pastry dough and cut into circles.
- Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center, top with cheese, and fold the dough over to form pockets. Seal the edges.
- Bake or fry the taco pockets until golden and crispy.
