Ingredients

- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Season the shrimp with paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Add to the skillet and cook until pink and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the orzo and chicken broth to the same skillet.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until orzo is cooked and liquid is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in lemon juice and fresh basil once orzo is done.
- Serve the shrimp on top of the orzo with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
Avoid overcooking the shrimp for the best texture. Use fresh basil for optimal flavor.
