- 2 slices sourdough bread (thick-cut)
- 2 slices white cheddar cheese (sharp preferred)
- 2 slices yellow cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp butter (softened)
- 0.25 tsp garlic powder (optional, mix into butter)
Instructions
- Remove the butter from the fridge 30 minutes before use.
- Slice the bread if needed and let the cheese come to room temperature.
- Optional: Mix garlic powder into the softened butter for added flavor.
- Spread the butter mixture on the outer side of both slices of bread.
- On the non-buttered side, layer one slice of white cheddar, two slices of yellow cheddar, and another slice of white cheddar. Close the sandwich with the second slice of bread.
- Warm a skillet over medium heat until hot.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Press gently with a spatula while cooking.
- Let the sandwich cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
