Description

A delightful twist on the classic Tres Leches Cake, combining rich chocolate flavor with the traditional moist and milky texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
  • Cinnamon for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder in a bowl.
  3. Beat the butter and sugar together until fluffy in another bowl.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Once cooled, poke holes all over the cake with a fork.
  9. Mix the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and chocolate syrup in a bowl.
  10. Pour this mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
  11. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then spread it over the cake.
  12. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
  13. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature for the best mixing results. Don’t skip the step of poking holes in the cake to allow the milk mixture to soak in properly.
