- 4 chicken breasts
- 8 oz Swiss cheese, sliced
- 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 package herb stuffing mix
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the chicken breasts in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer the Swiss cheese sliced over the chicken.
- Whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and milk, then pour it over the chicken and cheese.
- Mix the herb stuffing with the melted butter in a bowl.
- Spread the stuffing mixture evenly over the casserole.
- Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover the casserole with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This casserole can also be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
