Description

Deliciously zesty chicken wings marinated in tequila and lime juice, perfect for gatherings or game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/4 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Marinade: In a large bowl, combine tequila, lime juice, lime zest, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well mixed.
  2. Marinate Wings: Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes (or up to overnight for deeper flavor).
  3. Preheat Cooking Method: If baking, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If grilling, prepare your grill for medium-high heat.
  4. Cook Wings:
    • Baking: Place marinated wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-30 minutes until crispy and fully cooked, flipping halfway through.
    • Grilling: Place marinated wings directly on the grill. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and crispy.
  5. Serve: Once cooked, remove the wings from the oven or grill. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh cilantro if desired, for added flavor and presentation.

Notes

Marinate wings overnight for best flavor. For crispier wings, pat them dry and place on a wire rack when baking.
