Description
Deliciously zesty chicken wings marinated in tequila and lime juice, perfect for gatherings or game day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/4 cup tequila
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon lime zest
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Make the Marinade: In a large bowl, combine tequila, lime juice, lime zest, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well mixed.
- Marinate Wings: Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes (or up to overnight for deeper flavor).
- Preheat Cooking Method: If baking, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If grilling, prepare your grill for medium-high heat.
- Cook Wings:
- Baking: Place marinated wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-30 minutes until crispy and fully cooked, flipping halfway through.
- Grilling: Place marinated wings directly on the grill. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and crispy.
- Serve: Once cooked, remove the wings from the oven or grill. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh cilantro if desired, for added flavor and presentation.
Notes
Marinate wings overnight for best flavor. For crispier wings, pat them dry and place on a wire rack when baking.
