Description

A delightful dish combining savory beef and aromatic herbs wrapped in soft rice paper, perfect as an appetizer or light meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef (or shrimp for a seafood option)
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 2 tbsp Hoisin Sauce (or a mix of brown sugar and soy sauce)
  • 1 cup Shredded Carrots (or other crunchy vegetables)
  • 1 cup Chopped Bell Peppers (any color)
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil Leaves (or mint for a different flavor)
  • 10 sheets Rice Paper Wrappers

Instructions

  1. Cook the lean ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
  2. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the soy sauce and hoisin sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and add the shredded carrots, chopped bell peppers, and fresh basil leaves. Mix well.
  4. Prepare a shallow dish with warm water and dip one rice paper wrapper into the water for about 10-15 seconds until softened.
  5. Place the softened rice paper on a clean surface, add a few spoonfuls of the beef mixture, and fold the sides over the filling.
  6. Roll tightly from the bottom up and repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Notes

Make sure to use warm water when soaking the rice paper for easier handling. A squeeze of lime juice adds a refreshing zest.
