Description

A simple and delicious dish using just chicken and BBQ sauce, delivering great flavor and crispy skin.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 810 chicken thighs and/or drumsticks (bone-in, skin-on)
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Coat the chicken with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Arrange the chicken skin side down on a baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F, flip the chicken, baste with barbecue sauce, and bake for another 7 minutes.
  5. Repeat the basting process twice more in increments of 7 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. If desired, broil for an additional 3-5 minutes for extra crispiness.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in BBQ sauce for a few hours or overnight. Use bone-in, skin-on chicken for the best results.
