- 8–10 chicken thighs and/or drumsticks (bone-in, skin-on)
- 2 cups barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Coat the chicken with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Arrange the chicken skin side down on a baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
- Increase the oven temperature to 425°F, flip the chicken, baste with barbecue sauce, and bake for another 7 minutes.
- Repeat the basting process twice more in increments of 7 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- If desired, broil for an additional 3-5 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in BBQ sauce for a few hours or overnight. Use bone-in, skin-on chicken for the best results.
