Description

Delicious crispy churros with a soft center, perfect for dessert or a sweet snack.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a ball forms.
  3. Let the mixture cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  5. Place the batter into a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove churros from oil and drain on paper towels.
  8. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in a bowl; roll churros in the mixture while still warm.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

Churros are best served warm, ideally right after being rolled in cinnamon sugar.
