Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla in another bowl.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water until well incorporated (the batter will be thin).
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
