Description

A comforting and flavorful Wonton Soup filled with pork and shrimp, served in a savory broth.

Ingredients

  • Wontons (store-bought or homemade)
  • Chicken or beef broth
  • Ground pork
  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Ginger (grated)
  • Scallions (sliced)
  • Soy sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling by mixing together ground pork, shrimp, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Assemble the wontons by placing a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wrapper, wetting the edges with water, and folding to seal.
  3. Sauté the scallions in vegetable oil until fragrant.
  4. Simmer the chicken or beef broth in the pot until it reaches a gentle simmer.
  5. Cook the wontons in the simmering broth until they float, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  6. Finish the soup by drizzling with sesame oil and serving hot, garnished with scallions if desired.

Notes

Use store-bought wontons for ease, or make your own for a fresh taste. Ensure wontons are not overstuffed to prevent bursting during cooking.
