Description

Fluffy, cheesy biscuits stuffed with savory crab meat and paired with a zesty lemon butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder together in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the cheddar cheese.
  5. Add the buttermilk and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and parsley in another bowl and gently fold it together.
  7. Turn the biscuit dough out onto a floured surface and pat it down to about 1-inch thick. Cut out rounds with a biscuit cutter.
  8. Place half of the round biscuits on a baking sheet. Add a spoonful of the crab mixture on top of each.
  9. Top with the remaining biscuit rounds and seal the edges gently.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Use fresh crab meat for the best flavor. Don’t overmix the dough; it should be slightly lumpy. Ensure butter is cold for fluffier biscuits.
