Creamy and cheesy scalloped potatoes, perfect for gatherings and pairing with meats or enjoyed on their own.
Ingredients

- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Sprinkle in flour and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream, cooking until thickened.
- Add cheese, stirring until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Layer half of the potato slices in a greased baking dish. Pour half of the cheese sauce over them. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chives or parsley if desired.
Notes
Use a mandoline slicer for even potato slices. Experiment with different cheeses for unique flavors.
