Description

Creamy and cheesy scalloped potatoes, perfect for gatherings and pairing with meats or enjoyed on their own.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Sprinkle in flour and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream, cooking until thickened.
  4. Add cheese, stirring until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Layer half of the potato slices in a greased baking dish. Pour half of the cheese sauce over them. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and sauce.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chives or parsley if desired.

Notes

Use a mandoline slicer for even potato slices. Experiment with different cheeses for unique flavors.
