- 2 lb lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7)
- 8 slices medium cheddar cheese
- 24 dinner rolls
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 large yellow onion (finely diced)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and butter a rimmed baking sheet.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and sauté diced onion until translucent.
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula while cooking. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder; cook until browned.
- Drain excess fat and mix in the mayonnaise until well combined.
- Cut dinner rolls in half and place the bottom halves on the baking sheet. Layer with sliced cheese, spread the beef mixture evenly, and top with shredded cheddar.
- Cover with the top halves of the rolls, brush with melted butter, sprinkle sesame seeds, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
